READ JOCELYN'S CANDIDATE LETTER

Jocelyn Cramer has 25+ years of business management experience in the finance, medical and non-profit sectors. She founded and ran 2 theatrical production companies where she acquired on-the-job training in marketing, fundraising, publicity, development and finance. Later, she was VP Operations for a mid-sized consulting firm in Manhattan with over 300 employees. For 8 years, she oversaw all payroll, benefits, pension, and legal compliance. Jocelyn transitioned to Bear Stearns, a large global investment bank, and then to JPMorgan Chase. Several years later, feeling very unsatisfied in a large corporation, Jocelyn moved to her cabin in the woods, in Wayne County PA.  She bought the cabin in 2000, because she wanted a future in the County of her Baldwin and Spry ancestors who lived in Beach Lake.
Her Heritage in Beach Lake
Although Jocelyn grew up in neighboring Lackawanna County, she has deep roots in Wayne County. Her great grandparents  lived in Beach Lake.  Her great great aunts, Isabel and Keturah Baldwin put themselves through college, in the early 1900's. They loved history, and Wayne County, and in 1957 published "Your Heritage in Beach Lake" which describes the history and development of Beach Lake and chronicles the lineage of many Wayne County families. Your Heritage at Beach Lake can be viewed at the Wayne County Historical Society. In 2000, Jocelyn purchased a small cabin in Wayne County, home of her ancestors.  She became a full time resident in 2011.

Community Experience
Even as a part-time resident, Jocelyn was active in Wayne County since 2000. She served on her Home Owners Association Board of Directors, and was on their forestry committee for 10 year, much of the time as co-chair. She was the executive director of SEEDS (Sustainable Energy Education and Development Support) for 6 years. Now she is on their Board of Directors and an active volunteer.  She has worked with the Wayne County Commissioners for years on the Wayne Tomorrow initiative, was a member of the Pike Wayne Conservation Partnership, and still attends Quarterly Quality Council Meetings. She is working with Wayne County's Habitat for Humanity organization, and architect Richard Pedranti (Milford) to construct the first Passive House Habitat home in the state of PA. She is on the Board of Directors of the Sustainable Energy Fund in Allentown, and is their new Vice Chair, and serves on their finance committee. She is overseeing the construction of a multi million dollar multi-tenant Net-Zero Energy office building in Schnecksville, PA, the only one of its kind east of the California. Jocelyn's passion, experience and relationships in the sustainability arena are already benefiting Wayne County. She has a deep respect for our farming heritage, and the people who continue to farm. Jocelyn believes there is potential to restore farming to a viable and successful family business, as local food demand increases.  She is  a member of the Clean Energy Co-op,  the PA Farm Bureau, and the Business and Professional Women of Wayne County.

Jocelyn also serves on the Board of Directors of The Cooperage Project and believes that their after school programming, educational and entertaining events are playing a vital role in helping vulnerable, impressionable  teenagers feel more responsible and connected to our community.

"I have known and worked with our Wayne County Commissioners for over 5 years. I respect each of them, and would be honored to work with them. My  skills and strengths will be an excellent compliment to their talents. We are missing important experience and expertise in the new economy featuring innovations in high energy efficiency, green building, and sustainability. My experience and relationships can provide more economic opportunities for Wayne County, while preserving and protecting what we all love about our tight-knit community.
